Our Worship Services are Trinitarian and Gospel-Centered. The pastor begins the service with the Call to Worship. The congregation then rises to read God's Law in unison. Following the Scripture Reading, the pastor prays on behalf of the congregation in confession of sin. We then lift our voices in praise, singing a blend of historic and modern psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Worship continues with prayer for the congregation's needs, as well as the giving of tithes and offering. The pastor then preaches expositorily for about 45 minutes. Depending on the week, the service either concludes with the Lord's Supper and Doxology (1st Sundays of the Month) or a Benediction. In total, the entire service lasts approximately 75 minutes.
Childcare is offered during the 10:30 AM service. Nursery (ages 0-2) and Jr. Church (ages 3-5) are provided. However, children of all ages are welcome to stay with you in the main worship service.
The Why Behind Our Worship
Standing for the reading of Scripture is a sign of respect and reverence for God's Word. This practice has historical roots in the early church and Jewish tradition, where standing was a common posture of honor during the reading of sacred texts.
Passing the offering plate allows the congregation to participate in worship through giving. It is a visible act of generosity and stewardship, teaching our children the importance of supporting the local church and its ministries. Historically, the early church collected offerings to support the needs of the community and the ministry (1 Cor. 16:1-2).
The Lord's Supper is an ordinance that commemorates Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. The bread represents His body, and the wine His blood. It is a time for reflection, gratitude, and renewal of our commitment to Christ. This practice dates back to the Last Supper, as described in the Gospels, and has been a central element of Christian worship since the early church (1 Cor. 11:23-26).
Singing hymns is a way to worship God through music. Hymns often contain rich theological truths that help us to express our faith and devotion. They connect us to the historic church and its traditions. The practice of singing hymns has been part of Christian worship since the early church, with examples found in the New Testament (Ephesians 5:19).
New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB95). There are many excellent translations of the Bible, each with its own approach to translating the original texts. However, we prefer formal equivalence translations, which aim to translate the text word-for-word, staying as close as possible to the original languages.
